Julian has always been intimately involved with – and held active interests in – commercial ventures, both as a director and as a shareholder.

Julian Sheppard has acted as a financial director for a voice and data company which was floated on AIM and was the financial director for two drug development businesses. One of these raised £7 million in development funds and was then sold to a public company; the other is now a highly successful, quoted company in the US.

Julian was also the CEO of a sales and engineering business which was profitably sold to an American company. Following this, he was the CEO of a joint venture company selling Korean manufactured products into the UK market. And he has also helped steer a number of companies towards a successful exit for their founders.

Work with high net worth individuals

Julian has a great deal of experience working for high net worth individuals, typically finding them opportunities to invest in companies with exciting products or ideas. He then works with those companies, helping to protect the investor’s funds and to grow their value.

From his time as an equity partner for Grant Thornton UK LLP, one of the top five accountancy firms in the UK, Julian brings with him a substantial network of contacts from all different walks of commercial life – including biotech, engineering, knowledge management and family business. Moreover, whilst at Grant Thornton, Julian worked with a large number of entrepreneurial and family owned businesses. He acted as a specialist business advisory partner, helping to increase his clients’ wealth and prosperity by raising funds from high net worth individuals and private equity.

This network enables Julian to augment his skills and experience with professionals in corporate and personal tax, VAT, corporate reporting, staff management and incentivisation.
